The Story of Radiance Radiance is a return to the elegance and simplicity of the native flute. Many years ago a friend suggested that I should record a solo flute album. At that time I had just released Liquid Silk and wanted to explore the many combinations of instruments and nature sounds that would complement the sounds of my flutes. It was high fun to play with gifted musicians and the sounds of nature. Yet, my desire to make a solo album was always in my heart.   Radiance is a homecoming for me at many levels. It is inspired by my love for the Earth and my deep connection to the lush forest where we live in Western North Carolina.  When I was six, my family spent a year in the U.S. (on sabbatical from our life in the Congo), and our temporary home was only a short distance from where my husband and I built our dream home. It has been a true homecoming to return to the magical place that I loved as a child. The magical cover art by our dear friend, Charles Frizzell, was an inspiration for this music. The figure carries the healing and empowering medicine of the red-tailed hawk with great wisdom and beauty. She is radiant with the light of awareness.    I hope you will enjoy Radiance as much as I enjoyed playing it. It is perfect for relaxation, meditation and for the healing arts.
